The CR Division is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s CR agenda and initiatives by developing goals, policies and initiatives that align with and support the firm’s business strategies and operational objectives and support the communities where we do business.

JPMorgan Chase CR is looking to fill an associate role in their Global Philanthropy team in London which will contribute to the management, development and implementation of the firm’s philanthropic programs across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following. Under the supervision of a Relationship Manager you will:


Market coverage

Support the development, management, implementation and evaluation of grant-making programmes in the U.K. that align local priorities with the focus areas of the JPMC Foundation and wider Corporate Responsibility agenda to secure buy in and engagement from national and regional political leadership  as well as internal J.P. Morgan stakeholders

Conduct research to ensure both geographic and thematic expertise in employment/skills development and financial capability is maintained and updated, with a particular focus on the UK and Europe

Build strong networks with relevant stakeholders, sector knowledge and extensive network to ensure that the work is well positioned, visible and of high quality

Provide updates, briefing and management reports, including robust metrics, to ensure that local stakeholders are well informed

Support the delivery of firm wide Signature Initiatives (including New Skills at Work, New Skills for Youth, Bankers without Borders etc.)

Flag social, political and economic changes that may impact the firm’s local program and/or our broader reputation as a result of our philanthropic activities

Portfolio Management

Proactively research potential to develop relationships and proposals with non-profit and NGO partners

Support the development, budgeting,  approvals process and ongoing management for grant making activities

Support effective due diligence and risk analysis to ensure that the firm’s resources and reputations are protected

Manage ongoing activities with non-profit partners to ensure that work is delivered, monitored and measured to achieve agreed milestones and impact

Identify communication opportunities, developing articles and putting together ad-hoc written communications and/or presentation pitches for internal and external audiences

Collaborate with non-profit partners to plan and implement grant-related events according to target audience and objectives, and facilitate appropriate participation of JPMC Foundation.

Participate in local management and/or dedicated philanthropy meetings providing specific input and advice

Manage grants through local, regional and corporate approvals processes

Proactively collaborate and engage with internal J.P. Morgan stakeholders to identify opportunities, facilitate and track skills-based volunteering and other non-financial contributions to drive and enhance impact

Skills and experience

Relevant experience of grant-making, international development and/or non-profit sector experience

Experience/knowledge required of skills/employment development programs, and/or financial resilience initiatives in the UK and Europe

Knowledge of relevant UK/ EU policies/institutions (desired)

Ability to conduct research and analysis, and develop practical solutions

Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and on complex issues, from field workers to senior civil servants and/or J.P. Morgan business leaders, and build relationships across public, private and non-profit settings

Self-motivated and ability to work both in a team as well as in independent context

Proven ability to communicate at all levels

Good balance of analytical, commercial and interpersonal skills

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise

Capable of working under pressure and against tight deadlines

Strong project management skills and attention to detail (experience of thematically relevant events coordination/management desired)

English proficiency (orally and written) and strong writing skills required (Additional European language desired)
