Office Manager

Position Objective:

 

To organise and coordinate office operations and procedures, in order to ensure effectiveness and efficiency

To manage Human Resources Department policies

Term of Employment:

 

Full-time

 

Reports to:

 

Director, PETA Foundation

 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Oversee the daily activities and needs of the PETA office and its staff

Oversee office finances, including evaluating staff and office expenses and arranging payment of invoices

Work with the payroll company on any personnel changes as well as PETA's annual audit

Review job applications and conduct initial employment interviews

Establish and maintain standard operating procedures

Plan and implement office systems, layout, and equipment procurement

Work with PETA Foundation US' information technology personnel to ensure that all computer and technology equipment is maintained and working efficiently

Help coordinate printing, delivery, storage, and mailing of PETA's printed materials

Manage inventory and literature, including forecasting for reprinting

Coordinate content for PETA's Annual Review, and other printed materials

Keep the office running efficiently

Maintain office records

Handle personnel issues, as needed

Ensure that the organisation is meeting legal human resource requirements

Handle time-off recordkeeping

Organise and book staff members' travel

Conduct orientation for new employees

Recruit and manage interns and office volunteers

Act as the first point of contact for visitors and guests to the office

Assist with other staff projects, as needed

Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

 

Experience in a similar role strongly preferred

Previous management experience

Ability to make sound, independent judgements

Ability to manage multiple projects

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills

Proven written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of animal rights issues and campaigns

Adherence to a vegan lifestyle strongly preferred

Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
